In Memoriam: Dr. Sarah Welton
Daybreak, Inc. honors the life and service of Dr. Sarah Welton, who faithfully served on the Daybreak Board of Directors from 2015 through 2025.
For a decade, Dr. Welton was a steady and thoughtful presence in the governance of Daybreak. She was deeply committed to ensuring that the organization remained focused on its mission of serving the most vulnerable of our neighbors, and she consistently advocated for compassionate, responsive, and ethical care for individuals and families in our community.
Throughout her years of service, Dr. Welton was a strong supporter of the growth and development of Daybreak’s programs. She understood the importance of adapting services to meet emerging needs and offered guidance and encouragement as the organization expanded its reach and impact. Her belief in thoughtful growth, grounded in mission and accountability, helped shape the programs that continue to serve our community today.
Dr. Welton’s dedication to board service reflected her respect for strong governance, sound decision‑making, and collaboration. She brought care, integrity, and a genuine sense of responsibility to her role, always mindful of the people behind the policies and the lives touched by the organization’s work.
We are deeply grateful for the years Dr. Welton devoted to Daybreak and for the lasting contributions she made to our mission and programs. Her legacy of service, compassion, and commitment will remain an enduring part of Daybreak’s foundation.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Welton’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside her. She will be greatly missed.
