Palmer Coordinated Resources Project (PCRP)

A Therapeutic Court Approach to Justice
The Palmer Coordinated Resources Project (PCRP) is a specialized therapeutic or problem-solving court serving individuals in the Mat-Su Borough who have been charged with misdemeanor or low-level felony offenses and are living with mental health disorders or disabilities

Purpose of PCRP

PCRP aims to divert eligible individuals from incarceration by connecting them with community-based treatment and support services. The ultimate goal is to reduce repeated contact with the criminal justice system and promote long-term wellness and stability.

Key Objectives

  • Promote public safety
  • Reduce inappropriate incarceration
  • Lower rates of criminal and psychiatric recidivism
  • Support community reintegration
  • Ease the burden on correctional facilities

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in PCRP, individuals must:

  • Be charged with a misdemeanor or low-level felony
  • Have a diagnosed mental illness (beneficiary of the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority)
  • Reside in the Mat-Su Borough
  • Be eligible for community treatment services
  • Voluntarily agree to follow an individualized case plan instead of traditional bail or sentencing
